To Choose a Margin Size, open the Layout tab from the top of the page and click the Margins button. From the drop-down menu, select a common margin setting that suits your needs. If you wish to get more particular, select to customize and manually enter the fields to create your personalized margins.
To Change the Paper Size, from the Layout tab, click the Size button and select your desired size.
To Change the Paper Orientation, from the Layout tab, click the Orientation button and select Portrait or Landscape.
To Use a Header or Footer, from the Insert tab, click the drop-down button next to Header or Footer and select your desired option.
To Add Page Numbers, from the Insert tab, click the Page Number button and from the drop-down menu, select where on the page you wish the numbers to appear and the style you wish the numbers to be displayed in.
To Format Columns, (Desktop Version) from the Layout tab, click the Columns button and click to select your desired option.
To Insert Column Breaks, (Desktop Version) Place your cursor where you would like to start a new column, then from the Layout tab, click the Breaks button, then select Column.
To Insert Page Breaks, place your curser where you would like to begin a new page. Then, from the Insert tab:
Desktop – Find Pages, and from the drop-down menu, select Page Break.
Online – Find and select Page Break.
To Add a Watermark, (Desktop Version,) from the Design tab, find and select Watermark. From the drop-down menu, select your desired watermark style.
To Add a Page Color, (Desktop Version,) from the Design tab, click the Page Color button on the far right and select your desired color. {Theme colors, selected from the Colors button in the middle of the Design tab will broaden your pallet of page color choices.}
To Add Page Borders, (Desktop Version) from the Design tab, click the Page Borders button. A window will open where you will be able to customize your border style, color, width, where the border appears, etc. When you are satisfied with your customizations, click OK.
