If your internet is slow, a good first step to take is to test your internet speed. It can help you discover the issues for yourself, or it can be helpful information to provide IT Support with when you call for assistance.
Open an internet browser and enter the web address, www.speedtest.net
When the webpage loads, you should see a screen that looks like this:
Hit the “GO” button in the middle.
Wait while the site tests your internet. It will run twice through, when it’s finished, your screen will look something like this.
Displayed as such are some basic insights into the speed of your internet. If you hit “Results” at the top right, you will access more information on the speed, including dates in the past that you’ve tested so you can see how the results compare.
