In order to join a zoom meeting, you will need a Meeting ID number from the host. If you received a invitation email, you can follow the link in the email. Otherwise you will need to ask the host for the Meeting ID Number.
The Meeting ID Number is a 10 digit number separated by 3 dashes. Such as 123-456-7890. It resembles a phone number but it is not a phone number. It is possible to join Zoom meetings but phone but there is a separate phone number for joining the call in the later step.
1. To get started, open a web browser and go to Zoom.US/Join
2. You will be a box that''s asks for "Meeting ID or Personal Link Name" as shown bellow
3. Enter the Meeting ID that you received from the host and click "Join"
4. If you already have Zoom installed, click on "Open" and Zoom will open on your computer as shown bellow. If you do not have Zoom installed, it will automatically download Zoom onto you computer. Run and install the program that was downloaded. It usually appears on the bottom left corner is most Web Browsers.
5. Once Zoom opens, your meeting will start and will ask you how you would like to Join the meeting.
-If you want to join with a microphone on your computer, either built in or an external one like a headset, select "Join with Computer Audio"
-If you would like to join by phone, select the phone call option as shown below, Dial one of the numbers given. (The 587 number is an Alberta number and is generally preferred)
- Call the number and enter your Meeting ID and Participant ID when prompted.
You are now connected and have joined the meeting!
